About Everett

Everett is Owner and Co-Founder of the New Orleans brokerage Athena Real Estate. He also currently serves as the Assistant General Counsel for POOLCORP, the world’s largest wholesale pool distributor.

A licensed realtor and practicing attorney for over 14 years, Everett brings the rigorous standards of the legal profession to the real estate industry. In fact, the unmet demand for reliable, skilled representation in real estate is what motivated him and his business partner to form Athena in 2017. He strongly believes a brokerage is only as good as its individual agents. The highly qualified, motivated team of realtors Athena assembled supports the greater New Orleans area with the same commitment to excellence shared by the company's founders.

Everett's expertise in real estate and law sharpens his eye for business and his insights into today's market. He routinely manages high-volume commercial transactions and regularly presents on real estate transactional law for the National Business Institute. He has expanded his realty ventures to encompass multiple public speaking engagements and programs of continued education for his peers in the industry. As a lawyer, Everett has managed litigation cases, insurance defense, commercial litigation, and various real estate matters. These  combined skillsets have given Everett years of experience in navigating challenging transactions.

The excellence Athena expects of its agents Everett has developed for himself across nearly two decades of academic and legal work. Majoring in finance at Loyola University College of Business, Everett graduated magna cum laude in 2004 with a Bachelor’s in business administration. Three years later, he received his Juris Doctor degree from Loyola University College of Law. Everett served as a Member of the Law Review at Loyola and was a William L. Crowe Scholar (a designation reserved to students ranked in the top 10% of a graduating class). He practiced as a Partner of a nationally recognized law firm in New Orleans. Among Everett’s present academic appointments is the position of Adjunct Professor at Loyola University College of Law, where he teaches a core curriculum class for the bar exam. He is also an Editorial Board Member of Esquire Books, for which he co-authored the textbook Equity Research with Tulane Professor and Assistant Dean Peter Ricchiuti.

Following a full recovery after a sudden, life-saving brain surgery—conducted by Ochsner Medical Center's medical director Dr. Marcus L. Ware—Everett in September 2022 reaffirmed his commitment to making every moment count.  Apart from his busy career, Everett raises four boys with his wife Jamie, including a set of twins. When he gets the chance, he enjoys sneaking away to swing from the hammock with a good book in hand, alongside the family dog, a friendly Boxer named Rudy.
